2 c. sifted flour 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar 2 tsp. sugar 2/3 c. milk 4 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. soft butter Sift together dry ingredients, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse oatmeal. Add milk all at once and stir with fork only until blended. Knead 10 times on floured board; roll out dough to 1/2" thickness. Cut with floured biscuit cutter and place on lightly buttered baking sheet. Bake in hot oven, 425 degrees, for 10 to 12 minutes. |
