PECAN BRITTLE 
2 c. sugar
1/3 c. light corn syrup
1 c. butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
5 c. pecans

Toast pecans in a 200 degree oven until warm. Set aside. In a large saucepan, combine sugar and corn syrup and cook to 310 degrees, stirring constantly. Add butter; continue cooking, stirring constantly. Add salt, baking soda, and vanilla and cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Fold in pecans. Spread in a greased cookie sheet. Cool and break into pieces.
