BROWNIES (CHEWY Y Y Y) 
2 (1 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. chopped CA walnuts

Melt chocolate over hot water. Cream butter and sugar; add eggs and beat well. Blend in melted chocolate, vanilla and flour. Mix nuts into batter or sprinkle them over top after batter is poured into pan. Pour batter into greased 8 x 8 x 2 inch pan. Frost.

FROSTING (Chocolate, Satin)
2 c. sifted confectioners' sugar
3 tbsp. hot water
3 (1 oz.) sq. chocolate, melted
1 slightly beaten egg
1/3 c. soft butter
1 tsp. vanilla
