BEEF STROGANOFF 
1 1/2 lb. round or sirloin steak
6 tbsp. flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. shortening
1/2 c. finely chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1 c. water
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 (2 oz.) can mushrooms, undrained
2 tbsp. sour cream

Trim steak, cut into 3 x 1/8 inch strips. Coat meat with flour and salt, brown in hot shortening, stirring occasionally. Add onion, garlic, water and tomato sauce. Cover, simmer until tender. After meat is done, stir in mushrooms and the sour cream. Reheat without boiling and serve over noodles or rice.
