AUNT ANNA'S ITALIAN ANGEL WINGS 
6 egg yolks
2 whole eggs
6 tbsp. sugar
Pinch of salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour

In mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar and salt. Make a well and add egg yolks, eggs and vanilla. Mix well and knead. Roll out dough paper thin on a lightly floured surface. Cut in strips and twist dough to shape like wings. Fry in hot oil until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar. (This makes a very light and delicate pastry.)

My Italian Mother & Grandmother and myself made similar pastry's rolled them out tissue paper thin, twisted them to make a wreath and fried. When done we shake powdered sugar on them and honey in a light swirl before serving. Only until then.
