GRANDMA HAYNER'S FILLED COOKIES 
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. butter
3 eggs
5 c. flour
1 c. sour milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. baking soda
3 tsp. baking powder

Raisin or date filling can be used or any jam. Apricot is good. Put dough in refrigerator awhile and it will roll out easier. Roll out on floured board thin and cut with glass. Put a teaspoonful of filling in the center and then top with another layer of dough. Pinch the edges to seal. Place on cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
