GRANDMA'S BLACK WALNUT COOKIES 
1 c. Crisco (shortening)
2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs
3 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 1/4 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1/3 c. milk
2 c. chopped black walnuts

Cream Crisco thoroughly, then add brown sugar gradually, blending well. Add eggs. Beat until smooth and fluffy. Sift together: flour, soda, salt and spice. Add dry ingredients gradually to batter alternately with milk. Blend well. Add nuts with last of dry ingredients. Drop by teaspoon on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
