GREAT-GRANDMA THOMAS' SUGAR DROP
COOKIES
 
2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Stir flour, baking powder and salt. Cream butter and sugar. Add egg; beat until fluffy. Alternately mix flour and milk and egg mixture. Add vanilla. Drop by teaspoonful on cookie sheet 2 inches apart.

Bake at 375°F for 10 to 20 minutes or just until cookies are lightly golden around bottom edges (depends upon size of cookies).

Remove from cookie sheet while hot.

These cookies are really quick and easy to make. They taste delicious, great after school treat. Can eat plain or with frosting. I chilled the dough for about 20 minutes and used a scoop to make them all the same size and round.
