1 1/2 lb. ground beef 3/4 c. quick cooking oatmeal, uncooked 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 c. chopped onion 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce 1 egg, slightly beaten 1/2 tsp. pepper Combine all ingredients thoroughly. Pack firmly into a 9 x 4 inch loaf. In preheated skillet at 225 degrees. Melt 1 tablespoon butter. Remove meatloaf from pan, place in skillet and bake, covered for 30 minutes. Carefully turn meatloaf to second side. Continue to bake for an additional 15-20 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes before slicing. Makes 8 servings. |
