CHOCOLATE CARAMEL CAKE 
1 German chocolate cake mix with pudding
1 (12 oz.) bag of caramels
1/2 lg. can of evaporated milk or 1 sm. can
3/4 c. butter
1 (12 oz.) pkg. mini chocolate chips
Plus the ingredients for the cake mix

Mix cake according to package directions, pour half the batter in greased cake pan (9 x 13), bake 15 minutes at 350 degrees.

Remove from oven and set aside. Meanwhile, cook slowly, caramels, milk, and butter. Pour over cake and top with chocolate chips, pour the other half of batter on top and bake another 15-20 minutes.

Serve with Cool Whip or ice cream if desired.
