EASY SLOPPY JOE'S | |
My families favorite! I came up with this recipe because I didn't care for the sweetness of the original Sloppy Joe's 3 lb. ground beef (or ground turkey) 1 green bell pepper, diced 1/2 large onion, diced 3 (12 oz. ea.) cans tomato sauce (Hunts) 3 pkgs. fajita or taco seasoning mix Brown the meat on medium low to medium heat. Meanwhile dice the peppers and onions and set aside. When the meat is brown, drain and set aside. Add peppers and onions to pan you browned the meat in. Cook for a couple minutes then add back the meat. Stir in the tomato sauces followed by the seasoning packets. Let simmer on low, stirring occasionally until it thickens. Serve on buns. I put cheese on ours. Recipe may be halved. Submitted by: Patrice |
