RAISED DONUTS 
1 1/2 c. scalded milk (let cool)
2 cakes or pkg. yeast, soften in cool milk

Add enough flour to make thin, sponge-like cake batter. Let rise, double in bulk.

Add: 1 scant tsp. salt 1 tbsp. sugar 1/2 c. melted shortening 2 well beaten eggs Flour to make dough easy to handle

Roll, cut and let rise again. Fry in deep fat.

GLAZE (while hot) :
1 lb. powdered sugar
1 tsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. boiling water
