MA'S CHOCOLATE PIE 
1 1/2 c. milk
2/3 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tbsp. heaped, cocoa
3 eggs, separated
2 tbsp. butter

MERINGUE:

Beat egg whites and 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar until peaks form. Add 6 tablespoons sugar, one at a time and beat well after each addition. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch and beat well. Spread over chocolate filling and place in 350 degree oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
