KIDNEY BEAN CASSEROLE 
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 sm. onion, sliced
1 (16 oz.) can stewed tomatoes, drained
1/4 c. brown sugar
1 (1 lb. 12 oz.) can baked kidney beans
3 to 4 slices raw bacon

Fry beef in skillet until no red is showing. Add salt and pepper to taste. Drain meat and place in 1 1/2 quart casserole. Sprinkle sliced onion over meat. Spread drained tomatoes over onion. Sprinkle brown sugar over tomatoes. Spread kidney beans over brown sugar. Place bacon slices over beans. Bake in 375 degree oven until bacon is cooked and crisp. Serve with salad and crusty bread.
