1 c. white sugar 1 c. shortening 2 eggs 1/2 c. molasses 2 tsp. cream of tartar 4 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 5 c. flour 1 c. milk or buttermilk 1 tsp. nutmeg 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 tsp. cloves 1 tsp. ginger Mix all together and chill one hour or overnight. Roll out and cut with a Spam can. Bake at 350 degrees until done, but don't overbake. ICING: 1 1/2 c. white sugar 1/2 c. water 1 tsp. vinegar Little paraffin shavings 2 stiffly beaten egg whites 12 big marshmallows Boil sugar, water and vinegar until medium ball stage. Add paraffin. Pour hot syrup over beaten egg whites. Add marshmallows and beat until marshmallows are melted. Frost cookies. |
