BAKED SAUERKRAUT 
5 slices thick sliced bacon
3/4 c. firmly packed light or dark brown sugar
1/4 c. butter
1 can (27 oz.) sauerkraut
1 can (20 oz.) tomatoes or stewed tomatoes

Fry bacon crisp; drain and crumble. Mix brown sugar, butter and bacon to make a topping. Place DRAINED kraut and UNDRAINED diced tomatoes in a baking dish. Mix well. Sprinkle sugar mixture on top. Bake uncovered in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Makes 6 servings.
