CABBAGE CASSEROLE 
1 med. onion, chopped
2 tbsp. butter
1 lb. ground beef
1 tsp. salt
Dash of pepper
1 med. cabbage
2 c. American cheese, grated
1 1/2 c. sour cream
1 c. buttered bread crumbs

Brown onion in butter. Add beef and brown; season. Cut cabbage into 1" square pieces. Add to beef mixture. Cover and cook slowly until the cabbage turns translucent, about 10 minutes. Add cheese and sour cream; mix thoroughly. Put in greased casserole. Top with buttered crumbs. Bake at 375 degrees for about 45 minutes. Yield: 6 servings.
