LORA BRODY'S SURFER SQUARES 
6 oz. butterscotch chips
6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/4 c. dark brown sugar
1/4 c. butter
1 lg. egg
3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. mini marshmallows
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees with rack in center position. Butter an 8 inch square pan. In a medium saucepan, combine the butterscotch and chocolate chips, the sugar and the butter. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the chips and butter are melted and the mixture is smooth. Remove from heat and cool slightly before adding the eggs. Mix well. Sift together flour, salt, baking powder and stir into mixture. Stir in marshmallows, nuts and vanilla. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
