DATE NUT BALLS 
1 1/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/3 c. 10X sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2/3 c. chopped dates
1/2 c. chopped nuts
10X sugar

Combine flour and salt, sift twice. Cream butter and gradually add sugar. Add milk, vanilla and stir in sifted flour. Blend in dates and nuts. Roll in 1-inch balls. Bake on ungreased baking sheet at 300 degrees about 20 minutes until light brown. While still warm, roll in 10X sugar. Makes 3 dozen cookies.
