CHOCOLATE - APPLESAUCE CAKE 
1/2 c. Crisco
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 lg. eggs
2 c. applesauce
2 c. flour
3 tbsp. cocoa
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

TOPPING:

4 1/2 tbsp. sugar
3/4 c. chocolate chips
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Cream Crisco and sugar until smooth; blend in applesauce. Sift all of the dry ingredients together. Add eggs and beat 1 minute, then slowly add dry ingredients.

Pour into greased and floured 9x13 pan. Mix topping ingredients together and sprinkle over cake. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
