BUTTER COOKIES 
Icing:

1 (1 lb.) box. powdered sugar
1/4 lb. soft butter
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
3 to 4 tbsp. milk (+/- maybe a little more)

Mix all together adding milk to desired consistency and separate into three bowls. Add food coloring. Three different colors are nice. Stir and spread on cookies.

1 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift flour and baking soda together. Cream butter and sugar in separate bowl. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix in dry ingredients and divide in two parts making a ball. Roll on floured surface 1/8 inch thick and cut into desired shapes.

If you would like chocolate cookies add 1 1/2 square melted chocolate.
