NEW ENGLAND APPLE PIE 
3/4 c. raisins
3/4 c. water
6 c. peeled, sliced apples (7 or 8)
1 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Dash each ginger & ground cloves
1 pie crust

In a saucepan, combine raisins with water and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and allow it to stand, covered, for 10 minutes. Drain off excess water and combine raisins with the rest of the ingredients. Mix well. Put in crust and top with second crust. Cut slits in top crust. Bake 400 degrees for 10 minutes then at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Use sweeter apples. Good recipe for diabetics. (No sugar.)
