OLD FASHIONED TEA CAKES 
2 c. self-rising flour
2 eggs
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. vanilla
2/3 c. butter

Cream eggs, sugar, butter, vanilla. Gradually add flour. Pat out with hands or drop with spoon on ungreased cookie sheet. Cook in 400 degree oven. Cooking time depends on personal preference of hard or soft cookies. Check oven every 10 minutes.

This recipe is the one I recall my mother baking over forty years ago. It is very simple and easy to follow. If you want to add a different flavor to it, it's O.K. They take exactly 12 minutes in a preheated oven. Thanks for printing this recipe.

This is an excellent and simple and it taste just like my moms,' Old Fashioned Tea Cake Recipe!' Being born in Memphis, Tn,USA and now living in England, UK, I was longing for this. So when I saw it , I knew immediately it reminded me of watching my mom. I was given an 'Halogen Oven' and I tried this recipe in it and it turned out wonderful. My husband loves them and I now cook them several times a week :)
