1 German chocolate cake mix
1 pkg. (14 oz. bag) caramels
1 stick butter
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 c. chocolate chips
1 c. pecans (chopped)

Make batter for cake according to directions. Pour 1/2 into 9x13 cake pan and bake 15 minutes at 350 degrees.

Melt caramels with milk and butter. Pour over cake mix and pour remaining cake over caramels and sprinkle with chips and nuts. Bake an additional 25 minutes. Grease pan.
