BROWN RICE 
2 c. rice
1/2 chopped sm. onion
1 stick butter
2 cans beef consomme soup
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 chopped bell pepper

Melt butter and brown rice in skillet. Add onion, bell pepper and salt. Saute. Place in ungreased Pyrex bowl. Add consomme and stir well. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Take out, stir once and cover with aluminum foil until ready to serve. Bacon may be added (optional).
