BROWNED WHITE RICE 
1/2 c. butter
2 1/4 c. raw white rice
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 cans beef consomme
2 c. water
1/2 c. chopped almonds

Melt butter in a skillet. Add rice, cook over low heat stirring often until rice is golden. Place in 2-quart casserole with remaining ingredients. Cover and bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour 15 minutes.
