BROWN RICE I 
1 c. rice, uncooked
1 lg. onion, chopped or 1 pkg. onion soup mix
1 c. beef consomme soup
1 stick butter
1 1/2 cans water
Salt and pepper

Brown rice in butter; add onion or soup, water, and salt and pepper. Put in casserole dish and cover. Cook 30 minutes in 400 degree oven or until mixture bubbles 5 minutes.
