BEEF SANDWICHES 
3 tbsp. salad oil
1 lb. ground beef
1 c. chopped celery
1 c. chopped onion
1 1/2 c. condensed onion soup
1 c. water
1/2 c. catsup
3 tbsp. instant mashed potato
8 oz. sliced mushrooms
Dash of allspice
2 tsp. chili powder
6 slices toasted bread

Pour salad oil in a casserole, heat 2 minutes. Fry beef, celery and onion in the casserole and cook 6 minutes, stirring every 2 minutes.

Add onion soup, water, catsup, mushrooms and mashed potato and stir well. Sprinkle with allspice and chili powder. Stir again briefly. Cook 8 minutes, stirring every 3 minutes. Switch oven off, cover casserole and let stand 10 minutes. To serve, cut toasted bread in half and serve beef on the slices.
