APPLE COBBLER 
5 to 6 Granny Smith apples
2 c. sugar
1 c. water
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 stick butter
1 tsp. salt
Pastry dough

Line large casserole pan with strips of pastry. Peel and slice apples and place on top of dough. Combine other ingredients and bring to a boil. Pour over apples and cover with pastry strips. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes.
