CHOCOLATE FUDGE FIG COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1/4 c. shortening
1 c. packed brown sugar
1 1/2 c. white sugar
3/4 tbsp. vanilla
3 eggs
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. + 3 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. fig nuggets
12 oz. chocolate chips

Cream together butter, shortening, and sugars - add vanilla and eggs. Sift together flour, soda, salt and cocoa - add to creamed mixture. Mix until well blended. Fold in figs and chips.

Bake 8-10 minutes at 350-375 degrees until just set. Frost with your favorite chocolate frosting or glaze. Do not over bake - cookies will be soft and appear not to be done.
