BEANS & FRANKS | |
2 cans Campbell's pork and beans 2 tbsp. bacon grease (from fried bacon) 1 medium onion, chopped 1/2 to 1 cup brown sugar 2 tbsp. yellow or brown mustard 1 (8 to 10) pgk. hot dogs, your brand choice, cut into bite-sized pieces In a frying pan, (or preferably a cast iron skillet), heat bacon grease on a medium heat. Add chopped hot dog pieces and onions. Stir fry until onion gains translucency. Add beans, removing the pork fat, if any. Add brown sugar and mustard. Mix well. Set heat to low, and simmer, stirring occasionally for about 20 to 10 minutes or until beans thicken. They will also thicken more after you remove from heat. Dish up and enjoy!! Great as is, or add some ketchup if you prefer. Serves 4 to 6. Submitted by: Robert Oberg |
