MOCK DEVILED CRAB 
1 (15 oz.) can mackerel
1/2 med. onion, finely chopped
1 egg
6 saltine crackers, crushed
3 slices day-old bread
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1/4 to 1/2 tsp. crushed oregano (used 1/2 tsp.)
1/2 (10 3/4 oz.) can condensed cream of pea soup
1/3 can (about 4 oz.) evaporated milk
Dash of red pepper
Paprika

Mash mackerel up (can remove little bones first). Combine with onion, egg, and crushed crackers. Soak bread in hot water and squeeze dry. Stir in mackerel with pepper, oregano, condensed soup, milk and red pepper. Mix lightly (mix should be moist). Fill crab shells or aluminum containers. Bake 10 to 15 minutes or until light brown on top at 350 degrees. Sprinkle with paprika.
