SIX SPICE CAKE 
2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ginger
1/4 tsp. mace
1/4 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
3/4 tsp. cloves
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/3 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 egg yolk, unbeaten
2 tbsp. molasses
3/4 c. milk

Sift flour; add baking powder, salt, and spices. Sift together 3 times. Cream butter thoroughly. Add sugar gradually and cream together until light and fluffy. Add egg and egg yolk. Beat well. Add molasses; mix thoroughly. Add flour; add alternately with milk, a small amount at a time, beating after each addition until smooth. Bake in 2 greased 8 or 9 inch later pans in moderate oven (370 degrees) for 25 minutes or until done.
