COUNTRY STYLE BAKED BEANS | |
2 (28 oz. ea.) cans baked beans (I use Bush's Homestyle) 1 lb. ground beef 3 bacon slices 1 onion, chopped 1 bell pepper, chopped 1/4 cup brown sugar 1 (16 oz.) bottle barbecue sauce (your favorite) Fully brown beef and cook the bacon to preferred taste. Combine the bacon, onion, bell pepper, brown sugar, and barbecue sauce in blender and puree. I personally prefer to puree because my better half doesn't like the texture of onions or bell peppers. You can also mince the onion, pepper, and bacon and just combine with barbecue sauce. Combine ground beef, beans, and the pureed mixture in a 9x13-inch baking dish and stir with a spoon until everything is evenly distributed. Bake at 350°F for 35 minutes. Recipe may be halved.
