COOKIE'S CRISPY CHICKEN & MILK
GRAVY
 
6-8 pieces of chicken
1/3 c. flour
1/3 c. cornmeal
1/2 tsp. seasoned pepper
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. onion powder
3/4 - 1 c. milk
1 1/2 c. Crisco oil

Remove skin from chicken. Combine flour, cornmeal, pepper, salt, garlic and onion in shallow pan. Roll chicken in mixture. Heat oil and brown chicken slowly. Will take 30 to 45 minutes depending on size of pieces. After chicken is done, remove oil, except for 3 to 4 tablespoons. Turn on very low heat. Add remaining flour mixture, stirring constantly. Slowly add milk, stirring constantly until smooth. Serve immediately.
