COCONUT BELLS 
1/3 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs (save 1 egg white)
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. lemon flavoring

Blend shortening and sugar. Mix and spread on a cookie sheet with sides. (Wet hands to spread.)

MERINGUE:

1 egg white
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2/3 c. coconut

Beat egg white until stiff. Beat sugar in 1/3 at a time. Add vanilla and fold in coconut. Spread over prepared dough. Bake 30 minutes at 325 degrees.
