1 1/2 lbs. ground hamburg 4 lg. green peppers, diced 2 lg. onions, chopped 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper 1 tsp. Italian seasoning 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste 1 lg. can tomato puree Saute peppers, onions, and garlic in oil until soft. Add hamburg and brown. Add the remaining ingredients and simmer about one hour. Serve on torpedo rolls as you would sloppy joes. Makes approximately one dozen sandwiches. |
