BUFFALO WING SAUCES 
The following ingredients will make you all the Buffalo Wing Sauces you'll ever need!

FRANK'S® Red Hot Sauce
FRANK'S® Xtra hot Sauce
white vinegar
butter
garlic powder
Dave's Insanity sauce

Here are a variety of Buffalo and Hot Wing Recipes to suit your needs. Vinegar can be added to any of these recipes if you are a vinegar lover, but it is not needed if you don't care for it. All recipes call for butter and of course it must be melted. All recipes involve mixing all ingredients together to a smooth consistency.

MILD/MEDIUM WINGS:

1/3 cup FRANK'S® Red Hot Sauce
1/3 cup butter
1-2 tbsp. vinegar (optional)

HOT WINGS:

1/3 cup FRANK'S® Xtra Hot Sauce
1/4 cup butter (optional)
1-2 tbsp. vinegar (optional)

REALLY HOT WINGS:

1/3 cup FRANK'S® Xtra Hot Sauce
1/4 cup butter
1/2 to 1 tsp. Dave's Insanity Sauce
1-2 tbsp. vinegar (optional)

For Garlic Wings, add 1 teaspoon of garlic powder to any of the above recipes.

To make the wings, deep fry them until golden brown and slightly crispy. Put the sauce into a Tupperware container or freezer bag. Add the wings, and shake them in the sauce. Remove them and eat! You can use any typical blue cheese or Ranch dressing to dip the wings in.

AVOID using sauces such as Tabasco. These are not Buffalo Wings with Tabasco, but Tabasco really makes the wings unpleasant to eat. Use FRANK'S®, it's the original wing sauce and the best for flavor out there for Buffalo Wings. In a pinch, you can substitute Louisiana Hot Sauce or Texas Pete's or any other brand tomato-pepper based hot sauce, but once again, AVOID Tabasco!

Here, this IS the best Buffalo sauce, and the vinegar is a "must" since we love the added tang that it gives. We always stick with the mild version, though one day if I'm feeling adventurous, I may try the hot. Lol

Since Frank's sauce is not available everywhere I suggest that you search ingredients of Frank's and other sauces. It's easy to find a sauce with comparable ingredients. Not exactly the same, just a good place to start, and make your own version. Works for me.

Would using different types of vinegars sweeten or sour the taste more? I enjoy a more sweet buffalo with less bitter edge to it, but a friend of mine prefers his more tart.

For those that are unaware of what Franks is, due to regional reasons. They make more than one kind of sauce. Regular "Frank's Red Hot Sauce" is nothing more than a Cayenne Pepper sauce. Not Buffalo Sauce. Frank's is a brand though, and they make "Frank's Red Hot Buffalo Sauce" which is more than just Cayenne. It has Cayenne in it, but also has Paprika, Distilled Vinegar, Butter, & Garlic Powder. There's your answer, add salt to taste is the obvious addendum, but there's your ingredients for a buffalo sauce.

Okay so I thought this was great. It tasted perfect and wasn't too spicy (we did mild). I was even able to make it in the microwave. I know crazy right?! I did have to add 1 teaspoon of flour to thicken it. We used it as a dipping sauce vs. soaking the chicken in it.

People need to do their research and ease up on the Frank's bashing. The original spicy Buffalo chicken wings recipe from the Anchor Bar in Buffalo, NY used Frank's. This is not an opinion or a preference; it's just a historical fact. Loving wings and not ever hearing of Frank's Red Hot Sauce is like loving pizza and not ever hearing of pepperoni. Tip for people watching their waistlines: replace the butter with Greek nonfat plain yogurt. It works. 97 less calories, 59.4 less grams of fat, 7.7 more grams of protein, and you won't notice the difference.

Most stores have 15 or more hot sauces. Some of them wing sauce. Not a whit of difference in any of them when they're mixed with butter and garlic. Wing Master seems to be the supreme word on hot sauce. I have found that Franks is a puny sauce.

This is a good base recipe, but my friends and family like it a bit hotter. Taste in hot sauce is a personal preference. I have made my wings with Franks and Tabasco for over 20 years, and everyone raves about my wings. Also, Tabasco is one of the best selling hot sauces in the world, so the vile comments are really out-of-bounds!

I've seen negative comments on this primarily because some don't know what Franks Hot Sauce is. Here's the deal.....ANY pepper sauce will work with this recipe according to YOUR taste. If you like heat, use tobasco, heck take it up a notch and use ghost pepper sauce. The butter is a binder and the vinegar adds zing to the kick..........mix it, cook it, eat it and enjoy. You always can add to or take from a recipe to fit your taste. Find your taste zone. I personally like this one and will use it again. Good Job.

This is the first time I've made buffalo wing sauce, I usually buy the store bought kind and this time it was awful. We always always have Franks hot sauce in the the house so I tried it. I added garlic and onion powder to it, then I fried the wings, put a light coat of sauce on them and put them back in the fryer for about a minute, it gave them a perfect color and the skin crisper, then back in the wing sauce. I think that a little bit of the vinegar is a must.

Good order it online or not don't care but it is really so much better, And Franks is good for ever hot sauce application needed!

It should last at least a week in the refrigerator, but if you need to keep it longer you can bring it to a boil and keep it for another week. Alternatively, it can be frozen. If it separates in the freezer, process in a blender after thawing, just before using.
