VIOLET'S HOMEMADE HAMBURGER
SAUSAGE
 
1 lb. lean ground beef
1/2 tbsp. crushed red peppers
2 tbsp. rubbed sage
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. poultry seasoning
1/3 c. self rising flour

In a large mixing bowl, loosely crumble the hamburger meat. Sprinkle all the ingredients except the flour, on top. Sprinkle half the flour on top of the spices. I use a tea strainer to sprinkle the flour evenly. Knead this with your hands until the spices are thoroughly mixed with the meat. Sprinkle the remaining flour on top and again mix thoroughly. After this the texture will be like sausage. Shape into patties and fry on low heat until done.
