VERY SIMPLE COBBLER RECIPE | |
This is my Great Aunt Julia's recipe. peaches or cherries (canned in own juice)* 1 cup self-rising flour 1 cup sugar (I use Splenda) 1 cup milk 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted 2 tsp. cinnamon (only if you are using peaches) dots of butter rectangular baking dish Note: When I make this I use 2 big cans of sliced peaches or 4 smaller cans of cherries. Mix flour, sugar, melted butter, and milk. Blend with mixer until lumps are gone. Spray baking dish with some type of baking spray. Put peaches or cherries in a rectangular baking dish. If using peaches, sprinkle with cinnamon and dot with butter. If using cherries, just dot with butter. Pour batter over the fruit. Bake at 350°F until knife inserted in the middle comes out clean, about 45 minutes to an hour depending on your oven. Submitted by: Brenda Moulder |
