HALLOWEEN PUMPKIN COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 3/4 c. canned pumpkin
2 3/4 c. flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ginger

Heat oven to 400 degrees. Mix sugar, shortening, eggs and pumpkin thoroughly. Measure flour by dipping method or by sifting, blend dry ingredients, add to pumpkin mix.

Drop by the teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 12-15 minutes or until lightly brown. Add - raisins, pecans if you want, to the mixture. Cookies may be iced after cooled with thin butter icing. Makes 6 dozen cookies.
