GOOD OATMEAL COOKIES 
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. shortening
2 c. ground oatmeal (meas. after grinding)
2 1/2 to 3 c. flour, sifted
1/2 c. ground raisins
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda, in flour

Cream shortening and sugar; add beaten egg. Then add oatmeal, raisins, flour, salt and soda (sifted together). Make into small balls. Place on greased pan and flatten with the bottom of a glass dipped in sugar. Bake in 375 degree oven for 12 to 15 minutes. Makes about 6 dozen cookies.

A recipe that I got from Dorothy is another excellent one. It makes a gillion cookies and they are so good you can hardly stop eating them.
