2 c. self rising corn meal
1 small onion
3/4 c. milk
1 egg

Mix cornmeal and grated onion. Add milk and egg. Drop by spoonful into hot oil or shortening. Cook only a few at a time. Turn once. Fry until a golden brown. Makes approximately 24.
