HUSHPUPPY CORNBREAD | |
If you love the taste of hush puppies - but want something bigger than small pieces - this is your recipe. Received this directly from "House of Autry" website. Also recipe for muffins - which I will also post. Is a little different. This with a big pot of Pinto Beans - and lock the doors. 1 1/4 cups Hushpuppy mix (I use House of Autry mix with onion) 1 tbsp. sugar (more or less - to your taste) 1/4 tsp. salt 1 egg, beat lightly 2 tbsp. melted butter 1 cup milk Preheat oven to 400°F. Spray an 8x8-inch. Combine first three ingredients - (make well in center). Add last three ingredients - stir until just combined. Pour into prepared pan/dish. Bake at 400°F for 20 to 25 minutes. Use toothpick test for being done. Note: Can entirely omit sugar if you prefer. Submitted by: Phyllis Chittum |
