FLAPPER PUDDING 
1 C fine vanilla wafer crumbs
3/4 C soft butter
2 C sifted confectioners sugar
2 egg yolks (have at room temperature)
2 stiffly beaten egg whites
1- 8 or 9 oz can crushed pineapple
1/2 C chopped walnuts

Spread half of wafer crumbs in bottom of 10x6x1 1/2 inch pan.

Cream butter, gradually adding sugar and beating until light and fluffy. Add egg yolks one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat one more minute.

Fold in egg whites (mixture may look curdled); beat at medium speed for a few seconds or until smooth. Fold in pineapple and nuts. Carefully spread over crumbs in pan. Top with remaining crumbs.

Chill until firm, 5 hours or overnight. Cut into 8 squares. Garnish with cherries.
