PASTOR JIM'S CAMP FIRE STEAK DINNER | |
4 medium to large size steaks 1/4 stick butter salt and pepper mixed chopped vegetables (carrots, potatoes and onions, if desired) barbecue sauce, if desired You will also need heavy-duty aluminum foil. Salt and pepper steak to taste. Place each steak on aluminum foil and put a pad of butter on each side of steak. Place a small serving of vegetables in with each steak if desired. Double wrap each steak and vegetables separately in heavy aluminum foil and place directly in the hot charcoals after they are fully burning. These are EXCELLENT prepared over/in a campfire (let the fire burn down some with a lot of hot coals, bury steaks in coals). Depending on the size of the steak, cook from 15 to 20 minutes. If you have live coals under and over the steaks you need not turn them over. The "SECRET" is getting them heavily wrapped in the aluminum foil, holding in the juices and flavor, and keeping the steak from burning. Be careful taking the steaks out of the fire. If wrapped properly, the foil can be used as a plate. Apply steak sauce when served, if desired. Enjoy. Feeds 4. |
