SIMPLE AND QUICK STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE | |
This is a simple recipe for quick strawberry shortcake. And the southern style biscuits are a great substitute for shortcake when you don't have time to make the real thing! 1 carton fresh strawberries 1 cup sugar 1 can Redi-Whip (extra creamy is best) 1 can refrigerator biscuits (I use Pillsbury Grands Southern style) vanilla ice-cream chocolate syrup softened butter Wash strawberries and slice them into a covered dish. Pour sugar over strawberries and cover. Let sit for about an hour. Prepare biscuits using directions on the package. When biscuits are done, cut in half and slather with butter on both sides. Put 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream on 1 half of biscuit, then drizzle on chocolate syrup. On other half of biscuit, first layer Redi-Whip, then strawberries, more Redi-Whip on top and then serve!
