HOT WATER SPONGE CAKE 
6 egg yolks
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. boiling water
1 tsp. vanilla
6 stiff beaten egg whites
1 1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder

Beat egg yolks until very thick. Add sugar gradually and continue beating. Add water; mix well. Then add flour, sifted with salt and baking powder. Mix smooth and add vanilla. Fold in egg whites. Bake in ungreased tube pan at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Invert pan to cool.
