VIRGINIA'S CHILI 
4 lbs. ground beef
1/2 c. minced onion
1 tsp. garlic salt
1 tsp. ground oregano
1 1/2 tsp. ground cumin
3 tbsp. chili powder (rounded)
2 cans (No. 2) size tomatoes
2 c. hot water
1 pkg. hot chili mix
Add salt to taste

Sear meat, draining grease. Add onions and garlic and cook 4 to 5 minutes. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to boil, reduce heat to low and simmer for one hour. Continue skimming fat off as chili cooks. Serves 12.
