RANGER COOKIES 
1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. crisp rice cereal
1 (3 1/2 oz.) can flaked coconut
1 c. pitted dates, snipped or raisins

Stir together flour, baking powder, soda, and salt. In a mixer bowl beat butter for 30 seconds. Add sugars and beat until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla; beat well. Add dry ingredients to beaten mixture, beating until well combined. Stir in cereal, coconut, and dates or raisins. Drop from a teaspoon 2 inches apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool about 1 minute before removing to a wire rack. Makes 48.
